Ported Discrete Sampler
| The ported discrete sampler is ideal for maintaining separation of the media at discrete depth intervals. Sampling personnel can easily identify samples at these different levels. Both ported discrete sampler models, the 5DS-40 and the 5DS-60, can sample the same solid media as the 3CS-40 and 3CS-60 solid samplers. The differences are that the exterior tubes on the 5DS samplers are ported to capture depth variations in media characteristics, and to overcome the adverse media flow characteristics of certain materials that may result in obtaining non-representative samples from a non-ported sampler. Also, the interior tubes are tiered, with shelving designed to segregate the samples obtained at the various depths. Rotating the exterior tube when unloading samples maintains the segregation of the samples and mitigates cross contamination. The seamless welded assembly makes EET Corporation's ported discrete sampler simple to thoroughly decontaminate and suitable for food applications. |
